Host a House Concert!

FIRST OF ALL, WHAT'S A HOUSE CONCERT?
Let's start with what house concert isn't…. It isn't a noisy bar where the artists play mostly covers and people sit at their own tables without any interaction with other people or the performer. It's not a giant arena where you can barely see the performer except on the Jumbotron. And it isn't a party with background music.

All of these have their place, but a house concert offers something very different; something very special.

A house concert is exactly what it sounds like — an intimate setting in your home where your friends (and friends of friends) get to enjoy a true listening experience while socializing with other like-hearted people.

WHY A HOUSE CONCERT?
There are so many talented musicians who put their heart and soul into their art, and our lives have been enhanced in so many ways by all of them. But, there aren’t enough ‘listening rooms’ for people to enjoy them…

Musicians love house concerts because it's a quiet environment for people who are genuinely interested in listening to original music. Audiences love house concerts it's a wonderful opportunity to discover a new artist in comfortable space. They can come with friends or alone and know they'll find friends, Hosts — that's you — love house concerts because you get to gather together an incredible community of people united by a common passion.

My wife and I have personally hosted over 16 concerts for other musicians and I can tell you from personal experience that it's a wonderful feeling to be able to do this. Literally everyone will tell you how much they appreciate you!

BUT, BUT, BUT…
‘Is my house too small?’ ‘Is it icky to ask people to pay?’ ‘How do we control who comes?’

These are all normal questions and concerns. But the truth is, after you do one, you realize that all of these concerns go out the window.

I will help you arrange whatever space you haveo optimize it for you and your guests — whether that's the living room, kitchen, or backyard. (Hint, it doesn't take much!) I will also set up the social media and invitations so  your address stays private and you know exactly who's on the guest list.

Some house concerts are ticketed while others have a pay-what-you-want appreciation jar with $25 suggested, although people are welcome to put in less, or more! Some house concerts provide food, while others are potluck, and still others are BYOW (Bring-Your-Own-Whatever).

Really, we can set it up the way that suits you!
